It’s been years since my last convention. Well, technically it’s been a week by the time I post this since I was invited by some friends to come hang out during Sakura-con 2018 in Seattle, WA, USA. Yes, the trip was long (Since I live in Sweden) but it was worth it as I had a blast during my visit. Compared to the previous convention I was at (Otakon 2014) I was mostly busy doing planned cosplay photoshoots all Friday and Saturday with Balance so not so many photos as that time. I did have time to catch a few random hallway cosplay shots and general atmosphere of Sakura-con though. Please enjoy!

I was reminded (but don’t remember by what) of an old photoshoot I did with Kuroyukihime three years ago in the summer. I was driving home from work one day and found the sunset behind my house could be a perfect backdrop for a photoshoot. I quickly grabbed the camera and the best fitting figure I could think of and headed into the forest behind the house. It’s been fun to compare my new post-processing with the first release of the photos I did on figure.fm back in 2013. Interesting to also find discarded photos for my first release that just needed more attention and skill to make them work. Enjoy!

It’s easy to say that I’m a fan of Good Smile Company’s figures. I simply like the excellent quality they have. So when I found another second hand Bakemonogatari figure, unopened, I couldn’t resist ordering it. (This hobby is about resisting buying, isn’t it, after all.)

I’ve had a bunch of people ask me what camera I use and how I can get such clear and sharp photos. I didn’t choose my camera and equipment myself when I started out as I’ve mostly borrowed whatever my family already owned, but in hindsight, analyzing my style and what I like, I think the cameras has suited me very well. Let me show you what equipment I frequently use for my photoshoots and what I’ve recently bought!

One conversational topic that usually comes up in figure communities or other social places with figure collectors is where we store our figure boxes. After telling them about my wall of boxes in my bedroom most are rather interested in how it looks like, so I thought I’d share that here.
