Tsundere Heavy Cruiser
I still have a few unboxed figures (and they keep piling up). So when I see an opportunity in the weather to make an interesting photoshoot I quickly scramble my camera and a new figure. The Mental Model Takao figure arrived recently and I figured the cloudy sky and windy ocean would make a fitting blue backdrop for her. So I took the car (first time for a figure photoshoot) and drove to the nearest beach.
It may not look like it, but it was just as windy as her hair is swaying. I had to hold her a few times to not fall over from the gusts.
Looking out over the ocean, waiting for her new captain to come.
Here I wanted to show the interesting rings of hair she has. I can’t say I’ve seen anything like it. I guess it’s a privilege of being a Mental Model, not having to answer to physical laws.
One thing I’ve learned through the years is not to take photos in cloudy weather as it doesn’t make for good photos. I wanted to challenge myself and actually try it this time. It was a bit darker than clear sun light which made hand held shooting with the zoom lens more difficult (not to mention the wind gusts pushing me). I had to take several shots just to get one or two good ones, which is something I do anyway thanks to experience.
Anyways, hope you enjoyed these photos! Check back sometime soon as I’ll be posting a short review with some studio photos.
