The sun is shining, it’s hot and barely any wind; What to do? Go to the beach, of course!

I brought two figures new to my collection for a trip to the nearest beach and it felt good to be back to shooting figure photos again. First my favorite lens broke and secondly I’ve been busy moving till now, so it’s been about three months without doing any figure photos. Doesn’t mean I didn’t get any new figures though. I stumbled upon a figure of Nanao Yuriko by Phat Company one day on the internet and I just knew I had to get this one. She’s gorgeous, beautiful and cool, all at once. I’ve also recruited Kirino Kousaka to my collection. Let’s see what these two girls can do at the beach!

I was reminded (but don’t remember by what) of an old photoshoot I did with Kuroyukihime three years ago in the summer. I was driving home from work one day and found the sunset behind my house could be a perfect backdrop for a photoshoot. I quickly grabbed the camera and the best fitting figure I could think of and headed into the forest behind the house. It’s been fun to compare my new post-processing with the first release of the photos I did on figure.fm back in 2013. Interesting to also find discarded photos for my first release that just needed more attention and skill to make them work. Enjoy!

To be a successful sniper you have to be cool and calm, though, Sinon is anything but in these photos.

The new Sinon figma is both fun to play around with and gorgeous, so as you might notice I also took the time to make some new 3D photos with her. Enjoy!

The Japanese seem to love making moe-characters out of anything, and so they did for the anime series Arpeggio of Blue Steel: Ars Nova where the hostile force has AI of their battleships recreated in physical form called Mental Models. Takao here is one of the first our protagonist happens to fight, and also the AI I come to like the most in the series. I didn’t exactly think that I needed to buy a figure of her, but seeing this one I spontaneously pre-ordered it even though I haven’t heard of the manufacturer Q Ques before.

I still have a few unboxed figures (and they keep piling up). So when I see an opportunity in the weather to make an interesting photoshoot I quickly scramble my camera and a new figure. The Mental Model Takao figure arrived recently and I figured the cloudy sky and windy ocean would make a fitting blue backdrop for her. So I took the car (first time for a figure photoshoot) and drove to the nearest beach.

It may not look like it, but it was just as windy as her hair is swaying. I had to hold her a few times to not fall over from the gusts.

Waking up this morning and noticing the first snow this winter outside I knew I had to break out my unopened Snow Miku figma and do a photoshoot. Sadly, it was more ice than actual snow but I still managed to get some snowy looking shots.
