Post-convention withdrawal can be annoying, but good thing there’s always video to immortalize events and memories, so here’s the second batch of Idolfest videos from Otafest 2023! This one required more editing as I only had clips from parts of these performances since not only were I overheating in the blazing sun, so did my camera, so I had to take breaks in the recording to let it cool down. Good thing I like editing song medleys, so decided to make a compilation video of these clips.

While on vacation in Canada I attended Otafest in Calgary, as someone told me it was the best anime convention (possibly incorrect quote), and I can’t lie, it pretty much was the best convention I’ve been to. I had prior to the trip figured out how to record video in HLG (a type of HDR) with my newest camera so I decided to check out the Idolfest event outdoors, suffering through the immense heat and wildfire smoke filled air, to see what the performers had to offer and possibly record some video. I was not let down at all!

And here’s the third day of the Otakon convention! Quite the anti-climax of this three day/posts photo dump with only 15 photos, but the third day was a slow and short day compared to the previous days.
Pretty much only photos of cosplay from this day, but there were still some good cosplay to be found. There’s also more non-anime cosplay this time.

And with these last photos posted from Otakon I’m starting to look forward to my next anime convention in September, Kumoricon 2015! Nothing definite yet, but I’m planning on attending, so if I’m there I promise to take lots of photos once again!

[Update 21/7: After careful consideration I’ve decided to not visit the US this year. Reasons are shared between my host being unable to house me and my lack of energy for such a long journey but short stay. I’m definitely going back to US one day, but unknown when.]

Last year I made a visit to the US, and planned my trip to coincide with an anime convention, Otakon 2014 (http://www.otakon.com/). I’ve been to one other convention (UppCon, attended three times) in Sweden before, but that one shut down when it got too big for the staff to handle it. I’ve been missing walking around a convention, so visiting an American one while in the US seemed like a good idea.
